Upload. Process. Deliver.
PriceTool replaces the spreadsheet workflow you have been patching together for years. Upload a supplier file in whatever format it arrives. Get channel-ready pricing data with MAP enforcement, change reports, and version control — in under 2 minutes.
Upload
Upload your supplier file as-is. PriceTool identifies the format automatically and maps every column to a standardized structure — no reformatting required.
Process
Prices are calculated from your pricing policies. MAP floors and MSRP ceilings are enforced automatically. Every product. Every channel. Every time.
Deliver
Channel-ready export files, change reports, and version-controlled records are packaged and ready for your review and upload.
Step 1: Your suppliers send files. You upload them. That is it.
Harken sends an Excel file with columns in one order. Lewmar sends a completely different layout. Ronstan sends a third. You used to spend hours reformatting each one into a common format before you could even begin repricing.
With PriceTool, you upload the file as-is. PriceTool has a dedicated format transformer for each supported supplier. It knows that Harken puts the MSRP in column F and the dealer cost in column H. It knows that Lewmar uses different column names entirely. It knows that Ronstan includes data that other suppliers leave out.
What happens when you upload:
- PriceTool identifies the supplier format automatically
- Columns are mapped to a standardized structure — regardless of how the supplier formatted them
- Product data is extracted: part numbers, descriptions, wholesale costs, MAP prices, MSRP values
- Products are matched to your existing catalog using manufacturer part numbers
- New products are flagged. Discontinued products are flagged. Changes are tracked.
Processing time: Under 2 minutes for files up to 5,000 products.
Duplicate protection: If you accidentally upload the same file twice, PriceTool detects it via SHA-256 hash comparison and blocks the duplicate. If you upload an older file after a newer one, you get a warning.
Step 2: Prices calculated. Rules enforced. Every product. Every channel.
This is where PriceTool replaces the spreadsheet formulas, the cross-referencing, and the manual checks that consume your time.
Pricing Calculation
For every product in the uploaded file, PriceTool calculates the retail price based on your pricing policies:
- Standard wholesale markup — Apply a percentage markup to the supplier's wholesale cost
- Percent-off-MSRP — Set your retail price as a percentage discount from the manufacturer's suggested retail price
- Percent-off-list — Calculate from the supplier's list price
You set these rules per supplier, per channel, and per product group. A Harken block on your website might use percent-off-MSRP at 20% off. The same block on Amazon might use wholesale markup at 45%. PriceTool calculates both from the same source data.
Automatic Enforcement
- MAP floor — If a calculated price falls below the manufacturer's minimum advertised price, PriceTool raises it to MAP automatically. Prices physically cannot go below the floor you have set.
- MSRP ceiling — If a calculated price exceeds the manufacturer's suggested retail, PriceTool caps it. No product is priced above MSRP unless you explicitly override.
- Rounding rules — Choose from six options: standard rounding, .99 endings, .95 endings, round-up, round-down, or .00 endings. Applied consistently across every product, every time.
Variant Pricing
If you sell Robline rope by the foot from 600-foot spools, PriceTool calculates per-unit variant pricing automatically. Define the spool cost, define the cuts (per-foot, 50-foot, 100-foot), and PriceTool calculates the price for each variant. When the spool cost changes in the next supplier file, all variant prices update automatically.
Downstream Cascade
When a supplier cost changes, every price that depends on it recalculates:
Supplier wholesale cost changes
→ Your wholesale price recalculates
→ Your retail price recalculates (per your pricing policy)
→ Every channel price recalculates (per channel markup)
→ Variant prices recalculate (per unit conversion)
No manual intervention. No prices forgotten. No margin erosion from stale costs.
Step 3: Channel-ready files. Change reports. One package.
After processing, PriceTool generates a complete delivery package for each seller.
Channel Export Files
Upload-ready files formatted to your sales platform's exact specification. Currently supports ASPDNSF with two export modes:
- Full product export — Complete product data: names, descriptions, pricing, SEO fields, categories. Use for initial catalog loads or major updates.
- Price-only export — Just the pricing fields. Safe for frequent use — does not overwrite your product descriptions or customizations.
Coming soon: Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon, eBay, Magento, and WooCommerce export formats. Research is complete for all six platforms.
Change Reports
Every delivery includes reports that show you exactly what changed:
- New parts report — Products recently added by the supplier: revenue opportunities you might miss without this alert
- Obsolete parts report — Products the supplier has discontinued: items you need to pull from your store before a customer orders something you cannot fulfill
- Price changes report — Every product with a price change, showing old price, new price, and percent change
- Summary cover sheet — Change counts by supplier for a quick review before uploading anything
Version Control
Every file you upload is versioned. If you process the wrong file — the draft instead of the final, or an older file by mistake — you can roll back to any previous version. A preview mode shows exactly what a rollback would change before you commit to it.
Mass discontinuation protection: If 50% or more of a supplier's catalog disappears from a new file, PriceTool blocks the import and asks for confirmation. This prevents catastrophic data loss from a truncated or corrupted supplier file.
Your expertise stays. The spreadsheet work goes.
PriceTool is not a black box that takes over your pricing. You define the rules. PriceTool applies them consistently, accurately, and in under 2 minutes — work that currently takes you 40+ hours per supplier.

What a typical update looks like.
It is January. Harken, Lewmar, Ronstan, Selden, and Facnor have all published new price lists for the year. Five files. Roughly 10,000 products total.
Without PriceTool
You clear your weekend. Open the first file. Reformat the columns to match your template. Cross-reference MAP prices. Build the formulas for your website pricing. Export a file. Now build a different file for Amazon pricing. Repeat for the next four suppliers.
Estimated time: 200+ hours across the five suppliers. In practice, it takes weeks and the last two suppliers do not get updated until March.
With PriceTool
Upload the Harken file. Under 2 minutes — done. Upload Lewmar. Under 2 minutes. Ronstan, Selden, Facnor — same. Five files, roughly 10 minutes total.
You review the change reports, confirm nothing looks unexpected, and upload the channel files to your platforms. All 10,000 products repriced before lunch.
