Your suppliers. Their formats.
Our problem now.
Every marine equipment supplier sends pricing data in a different format. Different columns, different naming, different structures. PriceTool has a dedicated transformer for each one — built to that supplier's exact file layout. Upload the file as your supplier sends it. No reformatting. No templates. No wasted hours.
You maintain a spreadsheet template for every supplier. We maintain a format transformer for each one.
If you work with five marine suppliers, you have five different file structures to deal with. If you work with ten, you have ten. Each one uses different column names, different layouts, different conventions for expressing the same data — wholesale cost, MAP price, MSRP, product descriptions, part numbers.
The Problem
Most retailers build a spreadsheet template for each supplier. Every time a new file arrives, they copy the data into the template, reformat it, cross-reference it, and then start the actual pricing work. That reformatting step alone can take hours.
The Solution
PriceTool eliminates that step entirely. Each dedicated format transformer is built to read a specific supplier's file structure. It knows where the data is, what it is called, and how to standardize it.
Your Job
Upload the file. PriceTool does the rest — column mapping, product identification, pricing field extraction, and standardization into a consistent output structure.
Your suppliers. Native format transformers.

Not a generic CSV reader. A purpose-built transformer.
When we say a supplier is "supported," we do not mean PriceTool can read any CSV file. We mean something specific.
1. Column mapping is pre-configured.
Each transformer knows exactly where each supplier puts their data. Harken's wholesale cost is in a different column than Lewmar's. The transformer handles the mapping so you never have to.
2. Product identification is handled.
Each transformer extracts the manufacturer part number correctly from the supplier's format. This is how PriceTool matches incoming data to your existing catalog — a Harken 57mm Carbo Block is recognized as the same product regardless of which file it comes from.
3. Pricing fields are correctly extracted.
Wholesale cost, MAP price, MSRP, list price — each supplier includes different combinations of these fields in different formats. The transformer extracts exactly what is available and makes it available for your pricing rules.
4. Supplier-specific quirks are handled.
Some suppliers include extra data fields. Some use non-standard encoding. Some change their format slightly between releases. Each transformer is maintained to handle the real-world files your suppliers actually send.
Processing time: Under 2 minutes per file, for files up to 5,000 products.
New supplier formats are added as customers need them.
PriceTool supports a growing list of marine equipment suppliers. If you work with a supplier not on this list, the transformer architecture makes it straightforward to add new formats. Each new transformer is built to the specific supplier's file structure — not forced into a generic template.
If your most important supplier is not listed here, tell us during your demo. We will evaluate the file format and give you a timeline for adding support.
Why the transformer architecture matters
A generic import tool treats every file the same — it looks for columns with certain names and fails when names differ. PriceTool's transformers are built per-supplier: they know the specific quirks, edge cases, and format variations of each supplier's actual file output.
This is the difference between a tool that works in ideal conditions and one that works with the files your suppliers actually send.
Standardized data is just the beginning.
Once PriceTool reads your supplier file, the data flows through the full pricing pipeline.
Product Matching
New products identified, existing products updated, discontinued products flagged.
Price Calculation
Your per-supplier, per-channel pricing rules applied automatically.
MAP/MSRP Enforcement
Prices capped at floors and ceilings you define — automatically, every time.
Channel Export
Upload-ready files formatted to your sales platform's specification — ready to import without any further reformatting.
Change Reports
New products, discontinued products, and every price change documented. You know exactly what changed before you upload anything.
